Those random bytes between data make it sound like some kind of LZSS-variant compression with 1-byte flags. I only managed to do a PoC and restored only Ness' room at the very beginning, the process of doing it manually was SO time consuming that it took me a week just for that damn room, and having a tool that could ease up the process would be amazing! I'll take a look on modifying my program so it can look for those palettes aswell.Īlso, if you don't mind and end up modifying your program for this kind of things, would you be willing to release the modified program so that a restoration of Mother 2 in the Mother 1+2 ROM could be possible too?
